In 2015, AAI completed 34 bed-to-bed methane monitoring wells at the OCI (now Ciner Group) underground trona mine.  Four continuous core holes were drilled with BQ drilling tools to verify lithology as the drilling campaign progressed.  After drilling, 24 of the wells were fitted with pressure transducers and connected to a remote data logging system to monitor for methane pressurization.  In addition, AAI has completed numerous overcoring stress measurements and conducted substantial rock mechanics properties testing over the mine’s history.
